In sets with similar items, such as the two-sword set Bul'Kathos Children or a set with a ring such as Angelic Raiment, you cannot wear duplicates of the same item to get the partial or full set bonuses that apply to the entire set. This can create a very impressive list of properties! Once you have a full set, you retain all Partial Set bonuses in addition to the new Full Set bonuses. Specific Item Partial Bonuses are added in green text to the individual set items involved. General Partial Set and Full Set bonuses are listed at the end of each set. However, if one of those two items is the Arctic Binding Light Belt, the Specific Partial Set bonus also adds 40% better chance of getting magic items. For example, in the Arctic Furs set, the general Partial Set bonus for 2 items is +5 Strength. A Specific Item partial bonus is added if that combination includes a specific item from that set.

The average set has 4 pieces, but sets can range from 2 to 6 items. There are some sets that contain no weapons, and 1 set that's only a pair of weapons. There are 33 Sets in D2:R, usually comprised of a mix of armor and weapons. As you add pieces to the set, you add powers as well, with a very large increase in power if you manage to acquire the entire set. Some are targeted at specific classes or roles. This describes items that work together as groups of gear, nearly all named after an iconic figure in Diablo's lore.
